What is Fast Green FCF ？ Fastgreen FCF (fastgreenFCF, molecular formula: C37H34N2O10S3Na2) is a biological stain that can be used as a qualitative labeling reagent for proteins. Red to brown-purple granules or powder with metallic luster. Odorless. Easily soluble in water and ethanol, the neutral aqueous solution is blue-green, the acidic solution is green, and the alkaline solution is blue to blue-violet. It turns brown-orange when dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, and turns green when diluted with water. It has good heat resistance, light resistance and reduction resistance, and is stable to tartaric acid and citric acid. Weak alkali resistance. Highly hygroscopic. According to Japan’s “Official Protocol on Food Additives”, the content of this product should be above 85%. Fast green is used for protein staining in IEF, PAGE and SDS-PAGE. Fast Green staining covers a wider range of protein concentrations than BrilliantBlueR and is linear. After electrophoresis, fix the protein on the gel for more sensitive staining. Stain the gel with 0.1% Fast Green dissolved in 30% (v/v) ethanol, 10% (v/v) acetic acid or 7% acetic acid for 2 hours and then stain with 30% acetic acid. % (v/v) ethanol, 10% (v/v) acetic acid or 7% acetic acid for destaining. The stained gel can be viewed at 625nm. The detection sensitivity is 30% higher than that of Brilliant Blue R.
