Saving The Ocean TogetherIt is truly a privilege to be able to do our part for the ocean and making the world a better place for all. As a company, we spend most of our time on the island and underwater (best job ever, we know!). With this, we have personally seen the rapid deterioration of our surroundings on land and underwater over the last 20 years or so. Unfortunately, the condition is not a good at all. We need your help! The entire team of Downbelow staff have been instilled with the culture of picking up rubbish during dives and actively removing discarded fishing nets that pose as silent killers to coral reefs and all species of marine life. With the ever increasing amount of marine debris, we know we cannot do this on our own anymore. Will you join us in saving Mother Nature?Every Wednesday, we welcome passionate Eco-Warriors who wish to join us in removing discarded fishing nets and ghost nets, collecting rubbish on the islands and underwater as well as coral planting. It will be different activities every week, according to the urgency of what we have come across. It is recommended that you have a Dive Knife or heavy duty kitchen scissors and a mesh bag prior to joining our Conservation Dive Day. At all times, Eco Warriors will be accompanied by the Downbelow PADI Professionals to ensure everyone’s safety.Doing Your Bit For The EnvironmentWe will be conducting two fun dives and a conservation activity, depending on sea and weather conditions on that day. Conservation activities will vary from removing discarded fishing nets, collecting marine debris, beach clean-up, and coral planting. Coral reefs are key to marine biodiversity. They are one of the most important ecosystem that helps to maintain various other organisms. Knowledge is needed to address these environmental issues. We have been running the Coral For Life program for many years, which provides a unique education for participants to witness the natural beauty found in our underwater world. It also describes the vital role coral reefs play for life on earth and how to preserve it.When you choose to dive with us, we don’t just guide you.
